How to Unlock Kaiju in Kaiju Alpha
What Cells actually buy, which gates are real, and why Destoroyah is not a night-one purchase.
Unlocking a kaiju in Kaiju Alpha is a shop action with extra homework. You need Cells, you often need a level on another monster, and a few unlocks still hide behind group membership or gamepasses. This page is the spend plan. It does not invent a full price list the developer never published. When a number is community-reported, it is labeled that way. When the live Update 45 description gives a number, that is labeled too.
If you do not yet have a Cell income, stop and run the farm guide. A shop tour with 12,000 Cells only creates regret.
Currencies that matter
- EXP levels the kaiju you have selected. Higher level means more HP and damage on that body, plus access to later forms.
- Cells (G-cells in old chat) buy kaiju and some upgrades.
- Robux / gamepasses sit on a few premium skins and kaiju such as historical Frostbite / Thermo / Burning lines. Update 45’s place title is Burning Godzilla; that does not mean the shop is all Robux. Most of the roster is still Cells.
Codes can dump EXP and Cells into the account. They cannot skip a “must be level 100 on X” gate. Redeem order is on the codes hub.
Free and cheap openers
Starters you should touch before any prestige purchase:
- Godzilla 1954 / 1955 — free, teach the controls.
- Anguirus 1955 — free, armor-flavored melee so you feel why melee is harder to farm with.
- Mothra larva / Showa Rodan / Kumonga — cheap-to-mid depending on the current shop row. Flyers change how you see the map, which helps later farms.
Community shop snapshots from the fandom wiki listed Showa Ghidorah as a group member unlock. Join the live SULU OPPA group if a kaiju still shows a group lock. Do not pay a reseller for a “group pass.”
Mid-game that actually farms
Spend the first serious Cell stack on something that prints more Cells:
- Heisei Godzilla — still the default farm recommendation in 2026 videos, even after the Update 45 rework. Two beams, honest range.
- Godzilla 2019 — cheap relative to endgame, good all-rounder in creator tier videos.
- Shin Godzilla / Kamata-Kun — AOE in chaos. Commenters call Kamata underrated against close-range piles.
- Godzilla 2000 — Update 45 buffed max HP to 5450, run speed 9 to 13, and several skill damages. If you like this model, it is a better buy today than it was on Update 44.
Use the farming tier list as the shopping list. Use the PvP tier list only for the second main.
Endgame gates (shape, not a fake spreadsheet)
Creators treat these as the wallet bosses:
- SpaceGodzilla — historically a huge Cell sink with Heisei / Biollante / Junior level requirements in community tables.
- Monster Zero — high Cell count, flyer, the “two-button crowd clear” at high level according to balance commentary.
- Shimo — another 500k-class Cell target in older commentary, ice kit, farm and PvP both.
- Destoroyah — a line, not a single buy. Community path talk is Juvenile → Aggregate → flying form → Final / Form 4, with level and kill requirements on the last step. Form 4 is not a direct skip from the baby. If a shop button looks like a skip, read it twice.
Kiryu sits in an awkward middle: mech, tanky, Update 45 buffed max HP to 5350 and the Absolute Zero cannon to 3750 damage with a 100s cooldown. That is a skill-5 identity, not a farm beam. Buy Kiryu because you like the cannon, not because you think it will print Cells like Heisei.
Exact Cell integers change when the developer overwrites the shop. Screenshot your shop the day you buy. Do not treat a June 2026 blog table as a receipt.
Order that wastes the least
- Farmer that can beam a street.
- Levels on that farmer during 2x or with Srryforbugs.
- One mid kaiju you enjoy (Hedorah, Gigan, 2019, 2000).
- One endgame wallet you actually want to play, saved for, and checked against the endgame roster.
Do not own three half-leveled Titans. One maxed farmer beats three sad shops. The builds page is where leftover stat points go after the unlock, not before.
When a friend says “just buy Dest,” ask them for the kill requirement on the form they mean. If they cannot answer, keep farming.
